MILWAUKEE (March 21, 2024) – Milwaukee County’s Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport will receive approximately $250,000 in Federal funding for improvements to its Air Traffic Control Tower. The funding is being provided in the next round of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law distributions going to numerous airports nationwide.

Today’s announcement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awards $254,372 to fund replacement windows, exterior doors, metal facade panels, and insulation at the control tower.

“On behalf of the users of Timmerman Airport, I commend President Biden, Senator Baldwin, Representative Moore, and our entire delegation for their support of funding these important control tower rehabilitations,” Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley said. “As a reliever airport for Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, Timmerman plays an important role in the network of airports in southeast Wisconsin.”

“Timmerman Airport has a long history of serving business aviation needs as well as developing the next generation of pilots,” Milwaukee County Airport Director Brian Dranzik added. “We are excited to move forward with these much-needed facility improvements.”
