The Milwaukee Police Department mourns the death of a Community Service Officer

On Monday, August 31, 2020, Milwaukee Police were dispatched to a shooting on the 4800 block of South 22nd Place at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located a 35-year-old male victim who sustained a fatal gunshot injury. The victim is employed as a Community Service Officer with the Milwaukee Police Department and had 4 years of service.

The suspect, a 65-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody without incident.

The preliminary investigation revealed that this incident stemmed from a neighbor dispute. This is a fluid investigation and more details will be provided in the upcoming days. Once family notifications have been completed we will release the name and photo of our employee.

At this time, we send our condolences and prayers to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.

This incident will be investigated by our Homicide Division.
