The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum Celebrates the Arts during Free Admission Evening for Families
The Museum will offer free admission from 5-8 p.m., along with special performances, visual arts displays and project-based activities for the entire family.
MILWAUKEE – JANUARY 15, 2017 – The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, in partnership with Artists Working in Education (AWE), Milwaukee Public School’s Turnaround Arts program and Milwaukee PBS, will celebrate the arts with special programs for families on January 18 from 5-8 p.m., during its monthly free admission evening, Neighborhood Night, presented by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
The Museum will offer free admission from 5-8 p.m., along with special performances, visual arts displays and project-based activities for the entire family, including:
- A celebration of Artists Working in Education’s 20th anniversary, including demonstrations by local artists, visual arts projects and a birthday-themed photo booth.
- Art opportunities for the Year of the Artspassport campaign, which encourages MPS K-12 student families to participate in arts events throughout the city, in partnership with Cre8MKE.
- Special performances by the Roosevelt Middle School of the Arts African dancers and drummers.
- Interactive storytelling with Milwaukee PBS.
- A hands-on printmaking activity in the Museum’s Be A Maker
- Access to the Museum’s Children’s Art Gallery and interactive, educational exhibits.
Neighborhood Night, which is held on the third Thursday of every month, features free admission from 5-8 p.m. and is presented by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation with additional support provided by Potawatomi Hotel and Casino’s Heart of Canal Street Program, US Bank and the Joseph and Vera Zilber Charitable Foundation, Inc. and media sponsor FOX6.
