Summerfest Announces the Lil Gig
Activities and Music for Young Fans and Families
MILWAUKEE (June 6, 2024) – Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance will feature the Lil Gig, a kid friendly festival for young fans at the Northwestern Mutual Community Park during the nine days of Summerfest. The Lil Gig is the ultimate Summerfest experience for kids, with a family-friendly lineup of music, performers, and activities. Plus, each evening, the Lil Gig will close out with the Kids Boogie Down Family Fun Dance Party.
Performers at the Lil Gig include various local community and arts groups who will perform on the permanent stage at the Northwestern Mutual Community Park including:
- Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Steel Drum Band and Jazz Combo
- Caricatures & Comedy by Bill Begos
- Mad Science
- Accompany of Kids
Other offerings during the Lil Gig this year include:
- Survive Alive House – interactive fire truck
- Craft stations
- Soul Spin – interactive vinyl art
- Coal Creek Tie Dye – DIY tie dye
- Festival Fun
- Shimmer & Shine – hair sparkles
- Starship – henna tattoo
- Jimmy Flintstone – airbrush t-shirts and hats
- Dazzlebody – face painting
The Lil Gig takes place at the Northwestern Mutual Community Park, which offers inclusive and accessible play for children of all abilities, ages 2-12 years. The amenities at the Park include enhanced play equipment, permanent restrooms, sensory rooms, nursing mothers stations, and more.
