By - Apr 6th, 2020 09:04 pm

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson released the following joint statement regarding the recent decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to require in-person voting on April 7, 2020:

“No one should have to choose between the right to vote and their health or the health of their loved ones. At the core, with the election proceeding as scheduled, that is what we are asking people to do. As of right now, the Wisconsin Supreme Court decision from this afternoon requires that in-person voting on April 7, 2020 proceed as scheduled tomorrow. If you have not and will not vote absentee, and you wish to vote tomorrow, your only option is to vote in-person tomorrow. Please wear a mask and strictly observe social distancing. If you want your absentee ballot to count, the ballot must either be postmarked tomorrow or turned into the proper location in person by 8pm tomorrow – not April 13th.”
