Souls to the Polls Will Deliver Demand Letter to Republican National Convention Host Committee, Calling for Removal of Wisconsin Republican Party Executive Director Andrew Iverson

MILWAUKEE, WI: Souls to the Polls, a non-partisan voting rights group, will deliver a demand letter to the MKE 2024 Host Committee for the Republican National Convention during an open session on Monday, May 20 at 10:30am. The letter calls for the removal of Andrew Iverson, the executive director for the Wisconsin Republican Party. Recently released text messages reveal Iverson’s 2020 scheme to suppress Black voters in Milwaukee by draining resources of Souls to the Polls’ volunteer-powered free Rides to the Polls effort, referring to the scheme as “Operation Rat F*ck.” The voting rights group also demands that an internal investigation and review be conducted by the national Republican Party to determine if anyone else was involved in these efforts, and that subsequent action be taken to hold any additional parties accountable.

Souls to the Polls delivers this letter to call for accountability and ensure that there will be no other efforts from Republican Party staffers to suppress the vote in Wisconsin ahead of the 2024 election and the RNC in Milwaukee this July.

Reverend Greg Lewis, Executive Director of Souls to the Polls Wisconsin: “Attempts to suppress Black and brown voters, low-income voters, voters with disabilities, and other underserved communities will not be tolerated. The attack on our Rides to the Polls program is a direct attack on our right to vote. At Souls to the Polls, we don’t take sides, we just give rides. We demand accountability from state and national leaders.”

  1. BigRed81 says:

Andrew Iverson’s own words are hateful, racist and violate Constututionally protected Right to Vote.

Why hasn’t Iverson been held legally accountable?

  2. TosaGramps1315 says:

First, you can bet that any internal investigation of the WI Republican Party will show that magically nobody else was involved in trying to suppress voter turn out.

Second, you can also bet that the Republican Party WILL ABSOLUTELY DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING they can this year to do exactly the same, and more. They began that process in 2021 through various legislative changes to voting rights and procedures, all based on their unproven premise that elections were rigged and rife with rampant fraud.

Finally, the use of the term “Operation Rat F*ck” is indicative of the borderline Nazi mindset of Iverson and his cronies, and shows the obvious level of hatred and total disrespect for the people they were trying to prevent voting. Could that not be seen as attempting to rig an election? These people are complete and utter hypocrites.
