Restaurant expansion another positive for Kinnickinnic Ave. business district
The owner of Guanajuato Restaurant, located at 2301 S Howell Ave., has purchased the vacant building at 2317 S. Howell Ave.
The owner of Guanajuato Restaurant, located at 2301 S Howell Ave., has purchased the vacant building at 2317 S. Howell Ave. and will be relocating there later this year, Alderman Tony Zielinski said.
Alderman Zielinski, who has been involved in helping business owners in the S. Kinnickinnic Ave. business district make the area a successful and bustling destination, said Guanajuato owner Julio Lopez is in the process of renovating the building located at 2317 S. Howell (at the busy intersection of S. Kinnickinnic, S. Howell and E. Lincoln Ave.) so the restaurant can relocate there by December.
“Mr. Lopez and his wife have indicated they are excited about the development in the area and wanted to purchase this building to continue their plans to expand and be a part of the momentum along S. Kinnickinnic and now S. Howell Ave. in Bay View,” Alderman Zielinski said.
“And it’s always a positive for any business or commercial district when a vacant building is renovated to house a thriving business,” he said.
