Rep. Richards Reappointed to Joint Finance Committee
Creating jobs and helping middle class are top priorities for Milwaukee lawmaker
Madison—State Assembly Democratic Leader Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) announced today that he has reappointed Rep. Jon Richards (D-Milwaukee) to the Joint Finance Committee. Rep. Richards released the following statement in response to the announcement.
“Wisconsin continues to lag behind the rest of the country in job growth and economic forecasters expect that will continue unless things change. The next state budget offers an opportunity to get Wisconsin back on track. By focusing on the middle class we can move the state forward again. I am honored to have a seat at the table as the legislature sets its spending priorities for the next two years.
“Democrats and Republicans alike have promised to work together. I am hopeful we can find common ground to address the everyday concerns of families all across Wisconsin. It’s time to focus on creating jobs, strengthening our public schools and universities and making health care affordable for everyone.”
