Rep. Bowen Receives First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine, Urges Others to Get Vaccinated
“An End to This Pandemic is in Sight for Our Communities”
MILWAUKEE – After having received his first COVID-19 vaccine dose this past Saturday, State Rep. David Bowen (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement:
“This Saturday, I was thankful to receive my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Gee’s Clippers Barber and Beauty Salon in the heart of the city of Milwaukee! As someone who battled & beat COVID-19 myself and who lost valued mentors, friends, and community members to this horrible disease, receiving this vaccine and seeing the path forward that it will provide is an incredible relief. After a year in which Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and our country lost so many precious livelihoods, businesses, and lives to this virus, an end to this pandemic is in sight for our communities.
To my constituents, community members, and residents of Milwaukee, Shorewood and Wisconsin – you can do your part to defeat, once and for all, the coronavirus by getting vaccinated as soon as possible. As of this week, the COVID-19 vaccine is available to all Wisconsin residents 16 years old and up. Once you have an appointment, getting your vaccine is easy, it is safe, and it will supercharge your body’s existing immune system to recognize and defeat the virus if you are exposed. I am looking forward to my second dose on May 1!
For our families, for our friends, and for our fellow community members, vaccinations are the key to saving lives and returning to normal. Let’s all do our part!”
