Panther Partnering aims to simplify IP deals with UW-Milwaukee researchers: Learn more Dec. 1
MADISON, Wis. – Major research universities have discoveries available for licensing. Companies of all sizes look for innovative ideas and products to take to market. What happens, however, if cumbersome negotiations get in the way of efficient “tech transfer”?
The UW-Milwaukee Research Foundation has launched “Panther Partnering,” to make such transactions easier, especially firms looking for market-ready research. Learn how it will work Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Tech Council Innovation Network luncheon in Wauwatosa.
The event will take place at UWM’s Innovation Accelerator, 1225 Discovery Parkway. Registration, networking and hors d’oeuvres start at 11:30 a.m. and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for students and returning veterans, $25 for individual members, $35 for non-members and included for Tech Council corporate members. Panelists are Michael Andrew, director for corporate relations for the UW-Milwaukee College of Engineering and Applied Science office of the dean; Kyle Crum, senior manager for the advanced technology laboratory at Rockwell Automation; and Jessica Silvaggi, vice president of the UWM Research Foundation.
“Removing speed bumps from technology transfer should make the process smoother for everyone, from the researchers to companies to the university itself,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council. This luncheon is sponsored by the UW-Milwaukee and UWM Research Foundation.
