Open Workshop For All Milwaukee Area Dance and Theatre Artists
MDTN invites aspiring and professional dancers, movement-based actors and performance artists 18 years and older to participate in their open workshop event of four classes.
MILWAUKEE (August 2, 2018) – Milwaukee Dance Theatre Network (MDTN) hosts the second Milwaukee Dance Theatre Network Day on Sunday, September 16 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at UW-Milwaukee’s Mitchell Hall, Studio 256.
MDTN invites aspiring and professional dancers, movement-based actors and performance artists 18 years and older to participate in their open workshop event of four classes. MDTN Day is an opportunity for artists to meet and connect with the Milwaukee dance and movement-theatre community, as well as local artistic directors and independent artists.
The event will begin with a warm up led by Joelle Worm (The Field) and four 30-minute workshops lead by Dani Kuepper (Danceworks Performance Company), Catey Ott Thompson (Catey Ott Dance Collective), Jenni Reinke (Quasimondo Physical Theatre) and Betty Salamun (DanceCircus). The workshops will be an exploration of dance, movement and theatre through phrase work, improvisation and community-building.
A “Meet the Network” will follow the four workshops, where participants can introduce themselves, ask questions and exchange emails with MDTN members and fellow artists.
Registration is $8 in advance at Brown Paper Tickets and $10 (cash only) on the day of the event. Artists are encouraged to register in advance and can find more information on Facebook.
