New Partnership Brings Additional COVID-19 Vaccines to Milwaukee’s Southside
Joint Statement from Alderman José G. Pérez, Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa and Alderman Scott Spiker
Yesterday’s news that Ascension Wisconsin and Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers would partner to expand access to COVID-19 vaccinations on Milwaukee’s southside is a welcome development that will greatly benefit our residents. This partnership will allow the number of vaccinations administered at Sixteenth Street’s Parkway Clinic to quadruple starting this week.
We want to thank both Ascension and Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers for recognizing this need and taking action to support these neighborhoods. Since the pandemic began, the Latino/a community has been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, and those disparities have continued with vaccination. Now more shots can be administered to decrease this trend.
We would encourage all area residents who are a patient of Sixteenth Street and are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine to take advantage of this opportunity. You can schedule an appointment by calling 414-672-1353. More information can be found by visiting https://sschc.org/.
