New Hire Announcement—Vice President of Cultural and Organizational Development
AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin hires Freda Russel, Ph.D., to lead organizational culture
Milwaukee—November 26, 2018—The AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) is pleased to announce and welcome Freda Russell, Ph.D., as Vice President of Cultural and Organizational Development. Dr. Russell will be responsible for supporting and sustaining a healthy, high-performing culture enterprise-wide and overseeing the professional development and engagement of staff.
“Freda has had a phenomenal career first in healthcare and most recently in higher education,” said Michael Gifford, President and CEO of ARCW. “Her work throughout her career is impressive and she is a great addition to our leadership team. She will bring important new perspectives to ARCW’s as we continue to prosper and grow.”
Dr. Russell brings to ARCW broad experience in cultural and organizational development, as well as strategic community partnerships. Prior to joining ARCW, Dr. Russell served Cardinal Stritch University for 15 years, the last 8 of which were as the Dean of the College of Education and Leadership. In the role she led the development of curriculum and programming for face-to-face, online and hybrid teaching and learning models.
Dr. Russell serves in various capacities statewide, including with the Professional Standard Council for the State of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Policy Forum, and the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. She is also active in the community serving several advisory boards and has co-chair of the Education Deans of Greater Milwaukee. She is an author with extensive research on women in leadership roles.

Dr. Russell graduated from Cardinal Stritch University with a Ph.D. in leadership for the advancement of learning and service, and holds a master’s degree from Concordia University in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
