Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic today announced the launch of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors internship program, which is designed to give students a unique introduction to local government at the County level.
Interns will play an integral part in the daily functions of the Board, assisting County Supervisors with various projects related to public policy and constituent services. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend committee hearings on behalf of the Board as well as represent the Board at various County events.
“We see these internships as an opportunity to develop the future leaders of Milwaukee County,” Dimitrijevic said. “We decided to implement our own internship program at the Board because we see the value in mentoring our young leaders. I started out as an intern and gained valuable, firsthand experience as a result.”
The Board is currently accepting applications for their Spring program, spanning from January through May 2014. The deadline for these applications is November 1. To find more information on the new internship program, please visit: http://county.milwaukee.gov/MCBInternship
