Milwaukee Businesses Call on Milwaukee Common Council and Mayor in Support of “MKE Cares” Ordinance
As COVID-19 Cases Grow, Now is the Time to Enact this Life-Saving Measure
Over 80 Milwaukee businesses and organizations call on the Milwaukee Common Council and Mayor Tom Barrett to enact the “MKE Cares” ordinance, a city-wide masking policy, which will come to a vote on Monday, July 13. In a letter, Milwaukee businesses express support of the proposed mask requirement and its enforcement provisions, citing that without a city mandate, employees can’t be assured of a safe work environment and “the risk is much higher for new outbreaks, which could result in new stay-at-home orders that put us out of business for good.”
The full letter — signed by Visit Milwaukee, Fiserv Forum, Marquette University, Pabst Theater Group, Lowlands Grand Cafés, Colectivo Coffee, Mandel Group, Inc., Milwaukee Independent Restaurant Coalition (MIRC) and many other businesses and organizations – is attached.
