Literacy Services of WI celebrates grand opening at 6th District location
Literacy Services of Wisconsin (LSW) has opened a comprehensive adult literacy center at 1737 N. Palmer St. in the Brewers Hill neighborhood. There was a grand opening event held earlier today to mark the occasion, and to highlight what services and resources will be provided at the center.
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs is pleased to have the new center available to residents. “Access to education and training eliminates barriers that allow people to thrive both personally and professionally,” she said. “That is why the offerings provided by Literacy Services of Wisconsin (LSW) are so crucial. Whether its adult literacy support, English language learning, or one of their many other programs, LSW is meeting a real need in the community. I’m delighted they chose the 6th District for this vital new center.”
LSW helps adults to read, write, speak English and get a high school equivalency degree. Every day students walk through our doors, overcoming stigma and fear, with a desire to learn.
