Learn how Milwaukee tech transfer programs collaborate Sept. 11 at Milwaukee TCIN luncheon
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Among the many reasons why Milwaukee’s startup rankings in the Midwest have grown to 14th among the top 64 cities is collaboration among the city’s major research universities, which work together to translate research to emerging companies and beyond.
Panelists are Tech Council board members Kevin Boggs, director of office of technology development for the Medical College of Wisconsin; Jessica Silvaggi, president of the UWM Research Foundation; and Kalpa Vithalani, executive director of technology transfer for Marquette University.
Join us at Quarles & Brady’s office in downtown Milwaukee, 411 E. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 2400, for networking, lunch and the program. This is a new location for our Milwaukee luncheons, with spectacular 24th floor views and ample parking in the building’s underground lot. “Technology transfer from research universities plays a vital role in building startup companies by providing access to innovative research, intellectual property and support services,” Tech Council President Tom Still said. “Collectively, these three institutions hold scores of patents in fields such as robotics, biomedicine, medical devices and materials science that are available for transfer to the private sector.”
This luncheon is sponsored by Microsoft and hosted by Quarles & Brady.
