Kinser Endorsed by the Wisconsin State Journal
MADISON, Wisc. — On Sunday, The Wisconsin State Journal, one of the largest newspapers in the state of Wisconsin, announced its endorsement of Brittany Kinser in the race for DPI Superintendent.
The editorial board, which in 2021 endorsed current Superintendent Jill Underly, said of their decision to endorse Brittany, “This wasn’t an easy decision, and not everyone on our editorial board agreed. The State Journal endorsed incumbent Superintendent Jill Underly four years ago, and she can point to accomplishments… Yet Kinser offers voters more urgency for better student outcomes. She will bring a higher profile to the needs of K-12 education across the state and at the statehouse. Kinser promised our editorial board during a recent meeting to put children first, no matter if that requires standing up to the Democratic governor, the Republican-run Legislature or President Donald Trump.”
In a statement responding to the Wisconsin State Journal endorsement, Brittany Kinser said, “I am honored to have the endorsement of the Wisconsin State Journal. Our kids deserve so much better than the unacceptable status quo, and I am committed to restoring high academic standards and giving EVERY Wisconsin student the chance to go to college, get a meaningful job, or master a trade. The broad coalition of support I have received throughout this campaign from so many Wisconsinites is truly humbling, and I look forward to that support carrying me to victory on Tuesday.”
