Kathy House to exhibit Into The Forest Original Paintings at Inspiration Studios
The Opening Reception for Into The Forest will take place Saturday, November 9, 2-5pm at Inspiration Studios, 1500 S. 73rd Street in West Allis.
Emerging artist, Kathy House, will display a solo exhibition of original paintings at Inspiration Studios during the month of November. The exhibit is aptly titled Into The Forest as it portrays House’s experience of the changing of seasons through trees. An Opening Reception with the artist will take place on November 9, 2:00-5:00pm, at the West Allis gallery, located at 1500 S. 73rd Street. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Having been introduced to acrylics only two years ago after retiring from her career as a pianist and piano instructor, House states she is now obsessed with painting, engaging in the creation of original paintings during every moment she can.
“Play, exploration and color are my inspiration and nature is my muse,” offers House. “I love the depth and mystery of trees and woods. The series of paintings created for Into the Forest explore my love of color and the moody shifts of seasons through trees. I have always been fascinated by trees and how they change throughout the year. We can learn from the trees how to rest, how to grow and how to come to life and take action.”
“My days are now filled with the challenges of being a caregiver,” shares House, “but I always find time to paint. It preserves my sanity! Joe, who is 87 years young, has also become a painter! He tags along with me to classes and now has his own painting area at home. It’s a joy to share creativity with him and see the amazing things he paints. Neither one of us expected painting to be such a big part of our lives but it has become our way to connect, relax and express ourselves.”
Some of Joe’s paintings will also be included in this exhibit as a testimony to the benefits of maintaining connections with ailing family members through art making.
