FPC Announces Candidates for Acting/Interim Police Chief
Three candidates from within department
Milwaukee’s Board of Fire and Police Commissioners (FPC) is pleased to announce their consideration of three candidates for the position of Acting/Interim Police Chief for the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD). The candidates, listed alphabetically, are:
- Inspector of Police Michael Brunson
- Assistant Chief of Police James Harpole
- Police Captain Alfonso Morales
Each of these candidates will be interviewed during a Special Meeting of the FPC Board on Thursday, February 1st beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Room 603 of City Hall. A public forum with the candidates will be held on Thursday, February 8th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at a location to be announced, and the FPC Board will appoint the Acting/Interim Chief during their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
The FPC thanks all the department members who submitted application materials under such short notice. The Board members were extremely impressed with the quality of the entire pool of applicants; it is a testament to the quality of the entire department that our city could make this request and in a matter of 7 days receive such thorough, thoughtful and insightful application materials. This process has reinforced the FPC’s confidence that whoever is selected to lead the department on February 16th will have an unparalleled pool of talent and ideas from which to draw from and rely on while they begin the next chapter of the Milwaukee Police Department.
