Fostering Unity, Empowering Students: Genene Hibbler Announces Candidacy for Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District Board
Community advocate, nonprofit leader, and former Oak Creek Police and Fire Commissioner Genene Hibbler has announced her candidacy for the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District Board. A Certified Emergency Manager with more than 30 years of public service experience, Genene has formed a ticket with fellow candidate William McIntosh centered on two core values: “Fostering Unity, Empowering Students.” Genene and William will appear on the ballot in the February 18, 2025 primary election.
“My mission as a candidate for the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District Board is heartfelt: to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive school culture, ensure equitable access to educational resources for everyone, and strive for a learning environment where everyone feels valued and supported,” continued Genene.
Genene served on the Oak Creek Police and Fire Commission from 2020 to 2024. She was previously the manager of safety & emergency management for the CHD at Froedtert Health and a municipal emergency management services coordinator for Milwaukee County. Genene also served in the Milwaukee Police Department. Genene possesses more than 20 years of experience in Christian ministry and, as a nonprofit leader, advocates for widows, orphans, and senior citizens coping with grief and loss. Genene is an author, having captured her story and wisdom in a memoir entitled Navigating a Hurricane of Hurts: Enduring the Loss of Loved Ones. She has received substantial media coverage in recent years for her nonprofit efforts and her advocacy for unity and reform in the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District.
