Downer Classic Bike Race Returns This Weekend

On Saturday, June 22 the 45^th Annual Cafe Hollander Otto Wenz Downer Classic bike race returns to Historic Downer Avenue. The full day of racing features a popular kids’ race, Dairyland Mile race as well as a full slate of racing all afternoon and evening. Food, beer, and family fun complement the twilight pro race that promises to bring pro teams and riders from around the world.

Alderperson Jonathan Brostoff wants area residents to be aware of the impacts the race will have this weekend, and encourages people to come out and enjoy the fun. “The Downer Classic is a fantastic annual event that bring a lot of attention to the Downer Avenue area and highlights all the shops, dining and other entertainment in the area,” he said. “There is plenty for the whole family at this event, including the kids race, and I would encourage everyone to stop by and cheer on the races throughout the day.”
