Dan J. Bukiewicz Announces Assembly Bid
OAK CREEK, Wis. – Today, Mayor of Oak Creek and Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council President Dan J. Bukiewicz announced his bid for Assembly District 21. Bukiewicz has served as the Mayor of Oak Creek since 2017 and has been serving as the President of the Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council since 2014. Bukiewicz released the following statement:
“I am excited to announce that I am running for the 21st Assembly District. From rising costs to stagnant wages, Wisconsin families are struggling to make ends meet. I have a proven track record of supporting Wisconsin workers, and I want to bring that to our legislature.
“I have served this community for 18 years and I have delivered real results for businesses and families – building Oak Creek into a thriving, growing community. I have supported hard-working Wisconsinites, securing higher wages and safer working conditions to help families thrive. We need more servant leadership in Madison and I am running to be a voice for working families in the legislature.
“We have a real opportunity to change how things are done in Wisconsin – how we fund our essential services at the local level, how we support working families, how we create a state where everyone can get ahead. It’s time for new leadership in Madison – let’s get to work.”
Bukiewicz announced his candidacy today with endorsements from Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer and Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson. Leader Neubauer and Mayor Johnson released the following statements:
“I am proud to endorse Dan Bukiewicz for Assembly District 21. Dan is a proven leader who will fight for his community every day in Madison. He is committed to helping working families get ahead, and his experience as an electrician, labor leader, and mayor have prepared him to represent this community”, Neubauer said.
“I am proud to endorse Dan Bukiewicz for Assembly District 21. Dan is a long-time local elected official who has spent much of his career supporting working families and making Oak Creek a thriving community,” Johnson said. “I am grateful for his partnership on shared issues affecting our broader Milwaukee community and am thrilled to support him for the State Assembly.”
Bukiewicz also announces his candidacy with endorsements from State Representative Karen Kirsch, Milwaukee Alderperson Scott Spiker, Oak Creek Alderperson Alicia Haase, Oak Creek Alderperson Greg Loreck, and Oak Creek Alderperson Chris Guzikowski.
