Cream of the Cream City Awards put Historic Preservation front and center
Annual preservation honors event to be held May 29 at Best Place at the Pabst
The Cream of the Cream City Awards, sponsored by the city’s Historic Preservation Commission and the Milwaukee Common Council, will be recognizing individuals and organizations next week that have made outstanding contributions in the field of historic preservation and heritage education and advocacy in the City of Milwaukee. The event will again be held at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery, 917 W. Juneau Ave., and begins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 29th.
2025 Cream of the Cream City Award honorees will receive a commemorative brick recognizing how they have met the special stewardship challenges required of historic buildings. The 2025 winners who will be honored are listed in the attached document.
Alderman Robert J. Bauman, chair of the Historic Preservation Commission, said the awards recognize projects “large and small which have preserved the rich history of Milwaukee found in its varied architecture from the 19th and 20th centuries.”
“The work that will be recognized on May 29 is inspiring, and I encourage members of the public to attend the event and see firsthand what historic preservation truly looks like in Milwaukee,” Alderman Bauman said.
