Congresswoman Gwen Moore Statement on MAGA Resolution to Remove Representative Ilhan Omar from Foreign Affairs Committee
“As a Somali-born former refugee, Representative Ilhan Omar brings tremendous perspective to Congress, and especially, the Foreign Affairs Committee because of her lived experiences, skills, and knowledge. Historically, removing a member of Congress from their committees is reserved only for grave misconduct.
From this resolution, it is clear that the Republican majority wants to exact political revenge and is not interested in addressing the pressing issues facing our country, like the need to raise the debt ceiling, but only doing political stunts and embracing MAGA extremism.”
