Today the U.S. House took a critical step toward building a cleaner, more resilient and more equitable future for all of us by passing the Build Back Better Act, the largest investment to fight climate change in U.S. history.

“This will bring enormous benefits to the state of Wisconsin, helping us transition to clean, renewable energy, create jobs and support a healthy, prosperous economy,” said Clean Wisconsin President and CEO Mark Redsten. “This was a historic vote. It represents the urgent, aggressive action we need to take on the climate crisis and make a difference in people’s lives here in Wisconsin.”

The Build Back Better Act embraces a healthy environment as part of a strong economy by making major investments in climate solutions, including $320 billion in clean energy incentives, $105 billion to help build healthy, climate-resilient communities, and $27 billion to support sustainable farming practices and cover crops.

“We are grateful for the leadership of Reps. Ron Kind, Mark Pocan, and Gwen Moore for leading the fight to invest in Wisconsin’s future,” said Redsten. “Now we must continue the fight to make sure the Build Back Better Act becomes law and is implemented effectively here in our state. This is our opportunity to builder a cleaner, healthier, more prosperous Wisconsin.”
