MILWAUKEE — Caroline Gómez-Tom, current Milwaukee County Board Supervisor for District 14, announced today she will seek re-election in the April 7 spring election. She is seeking a second full term as Supervisor, representing the near Southside of Milwaukee County.

“I want to continue to be a voice for my community and make sure people in Milwaukee County have the resources they need to live well,” said Gómez-Tom. “In my short time in office, I have put policies and changes in place to improve outcomes for my constituents, and I want to make sure I see those changes through. District 14 deserves someone who will follow through with their commitments.”

In her first two terms, Caroline has repeatedly demonstrated her commitment to collaboration and proven herself a respected leader. She was chosen to serve as Chair of the Emergency Medical Services Council and the Intergovernmental Relations Committee. She also was appointed as Vice Chair of the Health Equity, Human Needs, and Strategic Planning and the Community, Environment, and Economic Development Committees.

“I secured initial funding for several of our Southside parks, and now, I want to see those projects through. I spearheaded the passage of policies to make information and public resources more accessible — now, I want to make sure those policies are administered strategically and consistently throughout all departments of the County,” said Gómez-Tom.

Caroline currently works at Covering Wisconsin, organizing community partners statewide to help people find, enroll, and use their affordable health insurance coverage. She previously worked in community engagement for Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers.

Raised by working-class parents, her father a cross-country truck driver and her mom a repair technician, Caroline and her two brothers were instilled with a strong work ethic and dedication to family and community.

Caroline watched her parents work multiple jobs and sacrifice to make ends meet, and, in some cases, still come up short in a system not built for them. Seeing the successes and challenges of her parents inspired her commitment to lifting up the community, working in outreach and policy, and building bridges to support working families.

In 2022, she was elected to chair the City of Milwaukee Board of Health and still serves as a member. She also serves on the board of directors of the Wisconsin Counties Association. Caroline was previously honored as one of the “40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Healthcare” by the National Minority Quality Forum, and most recently was acknowledged as one of “Wisconsin’s 31 Most Influential Latino Leaders for 2025.”

Born and raised in Racine, Caroline attended public schools, and holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Social Work and a master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Social Policy from UW-Madison. She, her husband Derek, and their two dogs, live in Milwaukee’s Garden District. In her free time, Caroline sings with the Milwaukee Choristers and enjoys gardening, cooking with friends, powerlifting, and supporting local restaurants and businesses.
