West Allis, WI – Milwaukee’s beloved spring German beer celebration, Bockbierfest, will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Kegel’s Inn, 5901 W. National Ave., West Allis.

After being hosted at various locations throughout the Milwaukee area over the years, Bockbierfest will find a new home this spring at Kegel’s Inn. The event will be held inside the restaurant’s heated festival tent, ensuring a comfortable, festive atmosphere regardless of weather conditions.

This year’s celebration will feature the official Hofbräu Maibock release party, highlighting one of Bavaria’s most iconic seasonal lagers. Maibock traditionally marks the transition from winter to spring in German beer culture.

  • Hofbräu Maibock ceremonial tapping
  • Blessing of the Bock
  • Firepoker caramelizing demonstrations

“Bockbierfest is one of our most important annual fundraisers.” Says Ed Wiess. “The support allows Spielmannszug Milwaukee to continue preserving German music and cultural traditions for future generations.”

The evening will feature the highly anticipated Hofbräu Maibock release party, celebrating one of Bavaria’s most iconic seasonal lagers. Maibock, known for its golden color, smooth malt backbone, and festive strength, traditionally marks the turning of the seasons in German beer culture.

“We’re honored that Bockbierfest is finding its new home at Kegel’s Inn. This group celebrates the same values we’ve built our restaurant on for generations: heritage, hospitality, and bringing people together.” said Julian Kegel, fourth-generation proprietor. “With our heated tent, we can guarantee a great atmosphere for the fundraiser.”
