Board Approves Funding for Sheridan Park Bluff Stability Study
MILWAUKEE – Today, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution authorizing a $1,126,580 appropriation transfer to fund design and permitting work for the Sheridan Park Bluff Stability project, advancing critical efforts to address long-standing erosion and instability along the Lake Michigan shoreline in the City of Cudahy. Supervisor Steven Shea released the following statement:
“Today, the Milwaukee County Board voted 13-2 to allocate funds for a study for Sheridan Park Bluffs stability. This study is a prerequisite for an appeal to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for grant money to repair the bluffs.
“I want to thank my fellow Milwaukee County Board members for the seriousness of the discussion and vote on this resolution.
Sheridan Park contains bluff areas that have been identified as among the County’s highest-priority coastal risk locations. Preliminary feasibility work has already identified multiple conceptual design approaches, providing the County with a strong foundation to move forward with design, bid documents, and permitting.
The resolution will now head to the desk of County Executive David Crowley.
