Big Clean MKE Successfully Beautifies Neighborhoods Across Milwaukee

Statement from Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II April 24, 2024

By - Apr 24th, 2024 02:57 pm

Beginning Friday, April 19 and running through Monday, April 22 the Big Clean MKE citywide beautification effort saw more than 20 organizations host cleanups in all parts of Milwaukee united around the common goal of making our city the cleanest city in the country.

I want to personally thank all of the host organizations, volunteers, sponsors and other supporters who helped make this year’s Big Clean an overwhelming success. From Milwaukee’s Northside to its Southside, and everywhere in between, boulevards, green spaces, and neighborhoods are much cleaner today than they were this time last week.

While the Big Clean MKE is a catalyst to start cleaning our community in the spring, we must remember it will take a united, year-round effort to keep Milwaukee looking great. We all have a small role to play, and I urge everyone, whether they participated in a Big Clean event or not, to take a few moments every so often to help keep our shared spaces clean. Those interested can also participate in Big Clean sponsored cleanups throughout the year.
