Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, chair of the Community and Economic Development Committee, is asking Milwaukee residents and representatives of community organizations and non-profits to attend public hearings scheduled for this week to prioritize funding proposals for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

Alderman Stamper said the Community and Economic Development Committee will hold two public hearings to obtain citizen comments on the proposed funding categories for the 2027 Community Development Funding Allocation Plan (FAP):

· Wednesday, July 15 at 6 p.m. at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy, 2607 S. 5th St.

· Thursday, July 16 at 6 p.m. at the Department of Public Works Field Headquarters, 3850 N. 35th St.

“We are inviting community members to play an integral and positive role in the CDBG funding process and we strongly encourage neighbors to make plans to attend one or both of the public hearings,” Alderman Stamper said. “Resident voices in this process are important as these dollars will directly impact the community. So please stop by and share your thoughts on the proposed funding allocation plan.”

The Community and Economic Development Committee will take final action on the funding allocation plan at a future committee meeting.
