Alverno College Welcomes New Vice President for Advancement

Milwaukee, (November 21, 2024)Michele Kitson has been named Vice President for Advancement for Alverno College. In this role, Kitson leads the Office of Advancement and collaborates with college leadership on strategic philanthropy and alum engagement initiatives for the college. In support of Alverno’s mission, the Office of Advancement works to maximize private support for the college in accordance with ethical practices, to strengthen relationships with key constituents and to amplify the reputation and impact of the college.

“I am excited to welcome Michele Kitson to the leadership team at Alverno,” said Christy L. Brown, president of Alverno College. “Michele is an accomplished fundraising leader and has a passion for educating and elevating women and girls in our community.”

Kitson has more than 20 years of fundraising experience. Her most recent role was at St. Marcus Lutheran School, where she served as the Director of Mission Advancement. While at St. Marcus, she led a $38 million comprehensive campaign, exceeding the campaign’s original goals. Prior to that, she was the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Girls on the Run Southeastern Wisconsin, and she was Director of Corporate Relations at University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

“I am thrilled to join the team at Alverno. This role is the ideal fit for my passion for education and my deep belief in the power of philanthropy to change the world,” said Kitson. “I look forward to meeting Alverno donors and alums. With the help of the Alverno community, we can continue to create a strong future for Alverno and the inspiring students we serve.”

Kitson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and French from Cornell College, and a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.
