Ahead of Today’s Packers Game, DPW Unveils New Mobile Billboard Highlighting Trump’s Failed COVID-19 Response
(WISCONSIN) — Ahead of today’s Green Bay Packers home game without fans, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin unveiled a new mobile billboard that will drive throughout Green Bay to encourage Wisconsinites to vote and to highlight President Trump’s failed pandemic response, which has crushed Green Bay’s economy. In Wisconsin, there have been more than 225,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and more than 2,000 lives have been lost.
“Across Wisconsin, COVID-19 cases continue to surge. As the mobile billboard says, it didn’t have to be this bad. President Trump and Wisconsin Republican legislators have intentionally downplayed the threat of this virus, failed to protect us, and now given up even pretending to try to contain it. Now countless workers have lost their livelihoods, and more than 2,000 Wisconsinites have lost their lives,” Ben Wikler, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin said. “We’re going to turn out every single vote possible to hold this administration accountable and elect new leadership in Washington and Madison.”
According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, each Packers home game provides $15 million in economic impacts to the city of Green Bay. Overall, the Packers contribute more than $160 million per year to Green Bay’s economy. As a result of Trump’s failure to respond to the coronavirus pandemic, the scaled-down Packers season is devastating to many Green Bay-area businesses.
