6th Annual Night by the River to Benefit ArtWorks for Milwaukee’s Teen Interns

ArtWorks for Milwaukee is excited to host the 6th annual Night by the River benefit on Friday, October 24th from 6:00-9:00pm

Milwaukee, WI – ArtWorks for Milwaukee is excited to host the 6th annual Night by the River benefit on Friday, October 24th from 6:00-9:00pm. Night by the River will be held at the City Center at 735 N. Water Street, overlooking the Milwaukee River.
Guests will enjoy sampling a wide variety of food and beverages from Milwaukee’s finest establishments. A highlight of the evening will be the opportunity to meet ArtWorks for Milwaukee’s teen interns and hear about the impact ArtWorks has had on their lives.

Throughout the evening, guests can bid on live and silent auction items. This year’s silent auction includes decorated furniture created by teams of ArtWorks intern alumni and lead artists. The live auction will be emceed by 94.5 The Lake’s Libby Collins. The live auction includes a celebrity golf package at The Bog with WTMJ’s Vince Vitrano, a pheasant hunting weekend, and an adventure trip to Lake Geneva. A gallery of art created by ArtWorks interns will also be available for viewing and purchase along with a photo booth, a raffle, and more.

ArtWorks will use the funds raised at Night by the River for its 2015 arts-based internships for Milwaukee high school students. Every year, ArtWorks has received 450 applications for 48 paid arts internships. To meet this demand, the nonprofit is expanding to use art to help even more teens develop valuable career and life skills.

To purchase tickets, visit www.nightbytheriver.com. Early bird registration for the event is $35 per person if tickets are purchased online before October 17th. After that, tickets will increase to $40. Tickets are $50 at the door. Register now as space is limited.

ArtWorks for Milwaukee is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides paid, arts-based internships to local teens who face employment barriers due to under-performance in school, disabilities, or lack of community connections. Interns use a variety of arts techniques to learn viable life and career skills. The program exposes interns to realistic workplace situations.
