Dem Gov Nominee David Crowley Calls Out MAGA Congressman Tom Tiffany for Silence on Skyrocketing Diesel Costs Crushing Wisconsin Farmers and Manufacturers

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A new report outlined how surging diesel prices from Donald Trump’s reckless Iran war are raising production costs for farmers and manufacturers, who are already being crushed by Tiffany and Trump’s tariff taxes. MAGA Congressman Tom Tiffany hasn’t just stayed silent on sky-high diesel costs —he has voted every time with Trump to continue the Iran war making life even more unaffordable for Wisconsinites. The cost of diesel accounts for between 3% to 5% of production costs for major U.S. crops like wheat, soybeans and corn.
“First, MAGA Congressman Tom Tiffany quietly applauded Donald Trump’s new Canadian tariffs, and now he’s got nothing to say about high diesel prices, his latest betrayal to Wisconsin farmers and manufacturers,” said Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Crowley. “These high costs are not only crushing farmers and manufacturers — prices are going up for everyone at a time when life is completely unaffordable. I’m running for governor to be a partner to Wisconsin farmers and manufacturers, to bring prices down, and to restore economic stability in our state.”
Crowley has campaigned on repealing the minimum mark-up on gas, which will help ease the pain of diesel prices caused by Congressman Tiffany and Donald Trump. Some Republican lawmakers publicly disagreed with Trump’s latest round of tariffs but unsurprisingly, Tiffany wasn’t one of them. He can’t find a single word to say against Trump and on behalf of Wisconsin’s farmers and manufacturers, including refusing to say where he stood on the new 50% tariff on Canadian imports. Between the new tariffs and diesel costs, fear across Wisconsin’s agriculture and manufacturing sectors is growing and “could soon hit Western Wisconsin’s farms and factories right in the pocketbook….[and] could be incredibly painful for our local economy.”
