Milwaukee Police Investigate Separate Fatal Crash and Non-Fatal Shooting on Same Night

The following incidents are unrelated:

Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at approximately 9:25 p.m., on the 1200 block of West Atkinson Avenue. A vehicle that was travelling eastbound and struck a pedestrian that were crossing the street. The vehicle remained on scene. The pedestrian, a 70-year-old, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the striking vehicle was taken into custody. This investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Milwaukee Police are investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday, July 14th , 2026, at approximately 9:50 p.m., on the 6300 block of West Kaul St. The victim, an 18-year-old, sustained non-fatal injuries and arrived at a local hospital for treatment. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Milwaukee Police continue to seek unknown suspect(s).
