Free Danceworks Classes in the Deer District

MILWAUKEE, WI – Danceworks is bringing the joy of dance outdoors this summer with a series of free, open-level dance classes at the Deer District. Held on select Saturdays from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., the classes welcome teens, adults, and families to experience a variety of dance styles led by talented local teaching artists.

Each class begins with a fun warm-up, followed by learning new dance moves that are combined into an easy routine. Participants will even have the opportunity to perform for one another at the end of class in a welcoming, supportive environment. No dance experience is necessary.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes suitable for dancing on concrete and dress appropriately for the weather.

  • July 11 – Salsa
  • July 18 – Line Dance
  • July 25 – “Glory Days” Poms/Jazz/Dance Team
  • August 1 – K-Pop
  • August 8 – Salsa
  • August 29 – “Glory Days” Poms/Jazz/Dance Team
  • September 5 – K-Pop
  • September 12 – Salsa
  • September 19 – Line Dance

Can’t make it to Deer District? Danceworks offers dance classes for youth and adults year-round at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center and brings dance and wellness programming directly to schools, community organizations, and businesses throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
