Oak Creek Celebrates America’s 250th with a Special Two-Day Independence Day Event
A patriotic holiday weekend packed with fireworks, a parade, and family fun to mark the nation’s historic milestone.
Oak Creek, Wis. – June 23, 2026 – Thousands of neighbors and friends are expected to gather for two jam-packed days of red, white, and blue festivities across Oak Creek.
Friday, July 3: Party Like a Patriot Celebration | 3:00-10:00 p.m.
The holiday weekend kicks off at Lake Vista Park with a spectacular fireworks show launched along the shores of Lake Michigan, synchronized to a patriotic music soundtrack. But there’s plenty to keep the whole family busy beginning at 3:00 p.m.
- Kids of all ages can show off their artistic side in the Chalk It Up sidewalk art challenge or take the stage at the Oak Creek Idol singing competition.
- Live music performances, a variety of food vendors, and an on-site beer garden, plus a variety of free activities.
Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Complimentary shuttle buses will run from the Oak Creek East Middle School to Lake Vista Park beginning at 3:00 p.m. Following the fireworks, shuttles will make return trips from the park to East Middle School from 10:00-11:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 4: Independence Day Parade and Kids’ Activities at American Legion Post #434 | 7:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
The excitement continues on Independence Day with the city’s traditional parade, stepping off at 9:00 a.m. on the corner of S Shepard Ave. and E Groveland Dr., ending at American Legion Post #434 (9327 S Shepard Ave). Following the parade, the Legion is hosting a community gathering filled with live music, entertainment, food, free ice cream, and family fun.
