It’s been just over ten years since Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater created The Laramie Project, a play (often conducted as a staged reading) about the town affected by the Matthew Shepard murder — a young gay man who was severely beaten and left to die tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming by two other men.
The play runs now through March 6, but on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. Matthew’s mother, Judy Shepard, will give a presentation at Weasler Auditorium with a Q&A and book signing afterwards. Ticket prices for the play range from $16 to $20. Discounts are offered to senior citizens, Marquette students, employees and alumni. Contact the box office at (414) 288-7504 or online here.
