Early in 2025-26, he has reached that mark in each of the team’s four outings. Freshman guard Nigel James Jr., who collected seven total points in the team’s first two games, has now reached double figures in back-to-back outings.
The Huntington, N.Y. native made his first-career start on Wednesday night against Little Rock for the injured Sean Jones, finishing with 13 points, two assists and a steal in 22 minutes of action.
In his last two outings, which includes a personal-best 16-point performance against Indiana, James Jr. is averaging 14.5 points and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from the floor and 88.9 percent (8-of-9) from behind the 3-point line.
