Aurora Health Care receives 11 ‘A’ ratings in hospital safety report, earning most top grades in Wisconsin

Health system also ranks among best in nation by The Leapfrog Group

MILWAUKEE – The Leapfrog Group has awarded 11 Aurora Health Care hospitals an “A” rating for excellence in patient safety on its fall 2025 patient safety report card – once again giving Aurora Health Care the most top grades of any health system in Wisconsin.

Leapfrog analysts evaluate publicly available data across 22 different safety measures to assign grades based on how well hospitals are protecting patients from harm. Measurements include the hospital’s ability to prevent errors, accidents, injuries and infections. Twice a year, Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades are assigned to nearly 3,000 general acute-care hospitals nationwide.

Aurora Health Care hospitals that received “A” ratings include:

  • Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area
  • Aurora BayCare Medical Center
  • Aurora Medical Center – Burlington
  • Aurora Medical Center – Grafton
  • Aurora Medical Center – Kenosha
  • Aurora Lakeland Medical Center
  • Aurora Medical Center – Manitowoc County
  • Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh
  • Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County
  • Aurora Medical Center – Summit
  • Aurora Medical Center – Washington County

In total, Advocate Health hospitals received 24 “A” ratings on the Leapfrog Fall 2025 patient safety report card – the highest number of top grades ever received by the health system and also among the top five health systems, nationally, for the number of “A” grades earned.
