MILWAUKEE, Aug. 4, 2026Aurora Health Care hospitals earned widespread recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2026-2027 rankings, underscoring the organization’s commitment to delivering exceptional clinical outcomes and high-quality care across Wisconsin.

For the fourth consecutive year, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center was named the No. 1 hospital in the Milwaukee metro area and No. 2 hospital in Wisconsin. The rankings include services provided at Aurora St. Luke’s South Shore and Aurora Sinai Medical Center. Meanwhile, Aurora Medical Center – Grafton ranked No. 3 in the Milwaukee metro area and No. 5 in the state.

Aurora Health Care hospitals also earned significant recognition for specialty care, receiving a combined 49 “high performing” ratings for procedures and conditions. Additionally, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center earned a Top 50 national ranking in Obstetrics & Gynecology (No. 29) and Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery (No. 38).

New this year, U.S. News introduced state and metropolitan specialty rankings for cardiology, orthopedics, rehabilitation and cancer care, helping patients identify leading specialty programs close to home. Aurora St. Luke’s earned three state specialty rankings: No. 1 for Cardiology, No. 3 for Cancer and No. 3 for Rehabilitation.

Aurora Health Care hospitals contributed substantially to Charlotte, North Carolina-based Advocate Health’s combined 204 high-performing ratings for procedures and conditions and 19 high-performing specialty designations, signifying top-decile performance nationally.

For the 2026-2027 rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals nationwide across adult specialties, procedures and conditions. Hospitals recognized as “high performing” demonstrated clinical outcomes significantly better than the national average.
