Milwaukee Police Investigate Former Executive Staff Member for Alleged Misconduct
In June 2025, the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) became aware of allegations of criminal misconduct involving Marcey Patterson, a civilian member of its executive command staff.
Upon learning of the allegations, Chief of Police Jeffrey Norman directed the Internal Affairs Division to initiate a formal investigation. The subsequent investigation substantiated the claims, and the case was referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. On August 25, 2025, the District Attorney’s Office issued a criminal complaint, which is attached to this release.
Marcey Patterson served as the department’s Community Relations and Engagement Manager, a position she held for over three years. She resigned from the department on July 21, 2025.
Chief Norman reaffirmed MPD’s unwavering commitment to integrity and accountability: “We hold all members of our department—sworn and civilian—to the highest standards of ethical conduct. We will continue to act decisively to maintain public trust and uphold the values of this organization.”
MPD emphasizes that everyone is afforded the right of due process under the law and are innocent until proven guilty.
The department remains dedicated to transparency, community engagement, and strengthening partnerships that promote both safety and trust across the City of Milwaukee.
