Bacchus, long known as a fine-dining destination, is introducing more relaxed offerings in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

The Bartolotta restaurant, located on the edge of Downtown at 925 E. Wells St., is marking the milestone with the release of an all-new bar menu and the return of a la carte dining starting Feb. 20, according to a news release.

The restaurant’s signature three-course and seven-course chef’s tasting menus will still be available, alongside a la carte options developed by Executive Chef Nick Wirth and Chef de Cuisine Brent Davis.

New offerings include tuna crudo with shoyu-marinated jicama, citrus, peppadew chutney, basil verjus, radish and puffed rice; charred Spanish octopus with hummus, preserved lemon, fried chickpeas and Calabrian chili; Scottish salmon with braised lentils, chorizo, saffron nage and kale; and lamb loin with sweet potato, mushroom hash and jus.

At the bar, guests can look forward to small plates such as Korean meatballs with furikake sesame crunch and scallions, LaClare Farms fried goat cheese curds and a black truffle grilled cheese.

Along with its refreshed food program, the bar features an expanded cocktail list with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients, a selection of high-end spirits and an award-winning wine list.

“We are so grateful to the community for the past twenty years of support,” said Paul Bartolotta, owner and co-founder of The Bartolotta Restaurants, in a statement. “We are thrilled to expand the menu offerings at Bacchus, whether you are stopping by for a quick bite at our bar, indulging in a more luxurious tasting menu experience, or selecting your favorites from our new à la carte menu, there is something for everyone.”

An Official Toast

Bacchus will host an anniversary celebration on March 6, featuring a five-course dinner paired with high-end champagnes including Dom Pérignon, Laurent Perrier Bollinger and more.

The luxurious dinner includes a roasted leek amuse-bouche, a duck dish and a 35-day dry-aged striploin, along with several other courses. For dessert, the restaurant will serve a barley tea pot de crème with lychee sorbet, champagne granita and fresh lychee.

Tickets to the 20th Anniversary Champagne Dinner are $250 per person and are available to purchase online.

Bacchus is open Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations can be booked online or by calling 414-765-1166.
