Senator Agard Reacts to Assembly GOP’s Shared Revenue ‘Plan’
MADISON – Today, Assembly Republicans held a press conference to announce that they will soon have a plan to address shared revenue to local municipalities. Senator Agard released the following statement:
“In contrast to the GOP’s forthcoming ‘plan,’ legislative Democrats are united in support of Governor Evers’ budget proposal to send 20% of the state sales tax revenue back to local communities for shared revenue to fund essential local services, resulting in the largest increase in aid to municipalities and counties in decades.
“Enough with Republican stunts. Wisconsin Democrats have already put forth a comprehensive plan and are working for Wisconsin. We know that when our municipalities are strong and prosperous, our state is strong and prosperous.”
