Ana Berrios-Schroeder Announces Campaign for Milwaukee Circuit Court
Family Court Commissioner brings 20-plus years experience serving on the bench
MILWAUKEE— Ana Berrios-Schroeder, who currently serves as Milwaukee County Family Court Commissioner, announced today she’s running for Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge in Branch 13. Current Milwaukee County Chief Judge Mary Triggiano announced she’s leaving Branch 13 to take a position at Marquette University. The election for Branch 13 will take place April 4, 2023, with a primary on February 21 if more than two candidates file.
“I’m running for Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge in Branch 13 to ensure the system keeps us safer and serves people of all walks of life,” said Berrios-Schroeder. “We must provide better access to justice through more timely processing of cases, and a more aggressive focus on resources to combat domestic violence. I believe we also can do a better job providing certified translators.
Prior to becoming the presiding Family Court Commissioner for Milwaukee County and a candidate for Circuit Court Judge, Berrios-Schroeder worked as an attorney in private practice and as a child support services attorney. She has been in the Family Court Commissioner’s office for more than 20 years, currently overseeing nine other judicial officers and the Family Division.
Berrios-Schroeder was born and raised in Milwaukee, and has earned degrees from Marquette University, UW-Madison Law School, and UW-Milwaukee. Active in the legal community, Ana is a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association and the Leander J. Foley Matrimonial Inns of Court, a past President of the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association, and a past member of the State Bar of Wisconsin Gender Equity Committee. In the broader community, she is a former board member for La Causa, Inc., Community Action, Inc., the Latino Community Center, and the Puerto Rican Foundation of Wisconsin.
Berrios-Schroeder is married to Marquette University Police Sergeant Glenn Berrios-Schroeder, and is the proud mother of a 16 year-old son, as well as to Glenn’s daughters. Her campaign can be found online at anaformke.com and on social @anaformke.
