Recipients of Alert Neighbor Program funds to be announced October 24
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II announced in July the re-launch of the Alert Neighbor Program, an effort that emphasizes community involvement in addressing crime and safety concerns in Milwaukee neighborhoods.
The selected neighborhood groups will be announced during a special meeting set to take place on Monday, October 24 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St.
“The Alert Neighbor Program looks at simple improvements that can be done block by block, neighborhood to neighborhood, to help to make them safer. Items such as signs, lights, cameras and a better organized block can go a long way toward making an area safer,” said Alderwoman Coggs and Alderman Stamper. “We are looking forward to announcing the recipients of program funding and working with those groups to create a safer city.”
