Milwaukee Public Schools Announces Early Dismissal for Students Due to Weather Forecast

Students will be dismissed no later than 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022

MILWAUKEE (June 14, 2022) – Milwaukee Public Schools announced that it will close schools early on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, due to the weather forecast of extreme heat.

All schools will start at their regular times with dismissals as follows:

  • Schools that begin at 7:20 a.m. will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m.
  • Schools that begin at 9:00 a.m. will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m.
  • All Summer Academy sites will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m.

Breakfast and lunch will be served. Buses will be available to pick up students at early dismissal. Families that typically pick up their child from school should adhere to the scheduled times above.

All Child Care Camps, Community Learning Centers (CLCs), and Safe Places will be canceled for the afternoon and evening. Note that Milwaukee Recreation programs, activities, and Twilight Centers will remain open.
