[Madison, WI]  Following Governor Evers’ comments on the April 7th Election this evening, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald released the following statement:

“Not once has the governor suggested moving the election date. In fact, not a single Democratic legislator has even introduced a bill that would move the election date. For Democrats to suggest now that their hands were somehow tied is pure cowardice. I continue to support holding the election on April 7th — our Republic must continue to function.”

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) represents the 13th Senate District, which covers portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington, Dane, and Columbia counties.

The vote has to be rescheduled. There is no excuse to put anyone in harms way. Milwaukee county alone expects 50,000 people to go out and vote. Where are the adults?
