New Beer Release on May 12th
Prenzlauer Berliner Weisse is soft and tart with notes of apple, pear, and some yogurty funk.
Gathering Place Brewing Company will release Prenzlauer Berliner Weisse on Saturday, May 12th at noon.
Prenzlauer Berliner Weisse is soft and tart with notes of apple, pear, and some yogurty funk. This classic representation of the style uses no hops, 50% malted wheat, and was soured using a special blend of lactobacillus. At 3.4% ABV, this beer is the very definition of refreshing.
“We named this beer after the Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood in east Berlin known for its diverse counterculture, bohemians, and artist communities,” said Joe Yeado, founder of Gathering Place Brewing. “Riverwest is essentially the Prenzlauer Berg of Milwaukee and we celebrate that tradition with this beer.”
Prenzlauer is the 23rd beer released by Gathering Place Brewing since it opened in August 2017. The Fur Trader, a blonde Biere de Garde fermented in sauvignon blanc barrels, will debut on Saturday May 19th. The name pays tribute to city father Solomon Juneau who worked as a fur trader in Milwaukee. The Fur Trader is the second quarterly bottle release for 2018 and will be available on draft and a limited number of bottles.
Gathering Place Brewing Company is an independent brewery in the Riverwest neighborhood dedicated to crafting vibrant and unique beers that reflect the vibrant and unique community it calls home.
